Psychology For Women
A therapy space, exclusively for women.
Thornbury & Australia-wide
If you’re a woman feeling lost, stuck and helpless because of the same recurring patterns that you’ve struggled to shift, time and time again, and you’re needing support from someone who can gently challenge you, then I’m here for you. I provide psychological services in the Northern suburbs of Thornbury and surrounds to women who are looking for a safe space to be heard and create change in their lives.
How we can work together
I have a special interest in working with women who have experienced trauma, often of an interpersonal and invasive nature, particularly during childhood or adolescence, and which has had long-term, widespread effects.
Often these effects include the following areas which I also address:
Social Anxiety
Body Image Concerns
Relationship and Family Issues
Stress and Burnout
Identity Issues and Low Self Esteem
Internet Addiction
Communication and Assertiveness
Therapeutic Approach
I predominantly use Schema Therapy, an evidence-based approach, that helps you understand long-standing patterns in how you think, feel, and relate to others. These patterns—called schemas—often develop in childhood or through difficult life experiences. When they’re triggered, you might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or respond in ways that don’t reflect who you want to be.
In therapy, we work together to identify these patterns, understand where they came from, and learn healthier ways of coping. Schema Therapy combines strategies from cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and emotion-focused techniques. The goal is to help you feel more secure, confident, and connected, while breaking unhelpful cycles that keep you from living the life you want.
